&#38;nbsp;
The work explores more-than-human perspectives on time and scale, asking how temporalities, movements, and material processes operate beyond human-made systems. Focusing on how boundaries (conservational, agricultural, infrastructural) shape relations between bodies, it explores how multiple agents inhabit and redefine these edges and how boundaries become active, porous, and sometimes ambiguous zones of relation. Within this framework, I also explored how, as a human body, I could embrace and remember the rhythms, speeds, and scales of the spring changes already present in the landscape.


Through sensory walks, landscape performances, attentive listening, and site-responsive writing, drawing, video, and sound recording, I traced and translated relational encounters with place, allowing different layers of the landscape to surface through repetition, attention, and reconfiguration. These practices proposed situated and embodied ways of knowing that sit alongside scientific and historical readings of the site, bringing large-scale environmental processes closer to lived and sensory experience.


I presented initial outcomes of the work publicly during the Saari Residence Open House Day 2026 (April 18) through an open studio presentation and a site-specific sensory walk, “These words are meant only for this timeplace” (April 14), developed for fellow residents and staff. The work continues to evolve as an open process, tracing how relations among bodies, landscapes, and material systems resonate beyond Mietoinen into other ecologies and contexts in Finland and other territories.


Vibrations Between site-specific work with(in) Mietoinen was developed with the support of Kone Foundation’s Saari Residence.

Traces we inhabit, fragments that hold us, is a site-specific sensory walk along the waterfront of Eira and Hernesaari. Proposed as a break from daily routines, the walk allows other forms of attention to emerge. It welcomes uncertainty, contradiction, and the irrational as pathways to explore the many possible worlds that reveal themselves when we attune with our surroundings.


With granite as a companion, the walk invites participants to connect with the multiple layers of time and space that shape urban landscapes. Traces we inhabit, fragments that hold us, is a shared yet intimate speculative journey grounded in thinking with matter, rather than over matter.


The work was presented to the public for the first time as part of Each day hides a grain of Sunday, vol.2, Circus Maximus’ 2025 artist laboratory curated by Candama (Daniela Pascual Esparza). The laboratory was in collaboration with Artists with Evidence, the Architecture and Design Museum, and was supported by the City of Helsinki.


In 2026, a second iteration of the walk, responding to the ongoing changes at the land reclamation site, was presented as part of&#38;nbsp;Moving scape, mutated land,&#38;nbsp;an exhibition that presented multiple perspectives of the Finnish landscapes.

The work imagines geographies where the city expands to the point of eroding its own layers. It escalates processes of accumulation, extraction, and displacement from a visual, sonic, and tactile perspective. 


By working with materials found around construction sites, such as gravel, sand, cement, and asphalt, sculptures intertwine the scale of debris with the city’s topography, creating imprints of abstract spaces. A video expands on these forms by using elevation data and 3D modeling to construct surfaces that oscillate between real and imagined landscapes. 


The visual language echoes the sculptural process, playing with positive and negative presence, erosion, and scale. It narrates the city’s development from the perspective of its materials in five chapters: I. Emergence, II. Saturation, III. Stratification, IV. Flattening, and V. Absence. The soundscape, composed of field recordings and digital sounds, gives voice to this narrative with sonic textures that condense until the point where they slowly dissolve, giving space for near silence. 


The audience is invited to consider absence not as emptiness, but as a residue of accumulation. The installation confronts the violence of urban saturation, gesturing toward the deep time of geological recovery: a way of reimagining spatial memory.

site-specific installation: soundscape, video, live-sound performance, granite, and spatial drawing.
&#38;nbsp;00:13:10,&#38;nbsp;dimensions variable
(T)HERE reinterprets local experiences –here– and reimagines the absent familiar elements from afar –there–, emphasizing the relational and subjective nature of place.

This installation recontextualizes a soundscape that maps Helsinki from both sonic and affective perspectives. It incorporates a visual component of textures documented at various mapped sites, displaced rocks gathered from a local land reclamation site, and outlines of the paths walked, represented by the equipment cables in the space.

In addition, microphones used during the mapping allow a live interaction as part of a performance. Through these components, heightened sound perception creates a unique sonic atmosphere that merges with the original soundscape, lasting only as long as the performance itself.

The installation also invites visitors to engage with the space through live interaction with its elements.

The work features a performance where a (dis)situated walk contrasts with its surroundings to explore how gestures, rhythms, and patterns embedded in the body can permeate a location and resignify a space. The soundscape, which does not correspond to the location's sonic atmosphere, emphasizes embodied sonic cues that resonate, echo, and move the body in specific ways.

In this site-specific installation, Francesca Bogani Amadori and Henry
Lämsä reflect on the fast urbanization, the appearance of defined places in
the cityscape of Helsinki, and the effect on the beings that inhabit these spaces.

The audiovisual installation materializes from gathered data obtained while mapping the history, the newly developed, the transforming and future spaces in Kalasatama. Field recordings, photos, and videos of the developing area merge with open-source maps, archival media, and property developers' promotional material.&#38;nbsp; 


Driven by the desire to mediate the in-between spaces, the installation collects objects from the nearby developing sites and their surroundings. The mixed media installation represents an encounter with wastelands and a faint notion of home. Can a home be a wasteland? Can a wasteland be home? questions the structured patterns and narratives that dominate these spaces, and the little room left to inhabit and transform collectively areas like Kalsatama.

Making Home: a place that lingers and yet dissolves explores longing and feeling out of place and their role in producing a sense of belonging. Through active listening, mapping, and exploring embodied memory, the project explores an intangible place that emerges from the emotional and experiential processes of inhabiting two places simultaneously—here and there.&#38;nbsp;
Part I: in between homes lies unfamiliar waters delves into the absence of familiar sounds by observing and documenting movement patterns in the Baltic Sea, which still remains an unfamiliar body of water. These patterns represent the lack of comforting sounds and the presence of unfamiliar intensity, contrasting with experiences of the Pacific Ocean. The resulting images facilitate the creation of sonic representations that reflect a distorted and distant memory of home. 
Part II: does nostalgia have an echo?_ and how does it break apart? draws attention from a sonic perspective to how different aspects and temporalities of various locations intersect and produce an intangible place where a shifting sense of home is situated.&#38;nbsp;The soundscape amplifies quiet sounds into resounding echoes, aiming to convey contrasting experiences in different spatial encounters along with generated sounds that capture the intensities and dynamics of longing.
