<sup>(T)HERE reinterprets local experiences –here– and reimagines the absent familiar elements from afar –there–, emphasizing the relational and subjective nature of place.

This installation recontextualizes a soundscape that maps Helsinki from both sonic and affective perspectives. It incorporates a visual component of textures documented at various mapped sites, displaced rocks gathered from a local landfill, and outlines of the paths walked, represented by the equipment cables in the space.

In addition to these elements, microphones used during the mapping allow a live interaction as part of a performance. Through these components, the heightened perception of sound creates a unique sonic atmosphere that merges with the original soundscape, lasting only as long as the performance itself.
