site-specific sensory walk: scores, live performance, granite fragments.

Traces we inhabit, fragments that hold us, is a site-specific sensory walk along the waterfront of Eira and Hernesaari. Proposed as a break from daily routines, the walk allows other forms of attention to emerge. It welcomes uncertainty, contradiction, and the irrational as pathways to explore the many possible worlds that reveal themselves when we attune with our surroundings.

With granite as a companion, the walk invites participants to connect with the multiple layers of time and space that shape urban landscapes. Traces we inhabit, fragments that hold us, is a shared yet intimate speculative journey grounded in thinking with matter, rather than over matter.

The work was presented to the public for the first time as part of Each day hides a grain of Sunday, vol.2, Circus Maximus’ 2025 artist laboratory. The laboratory was a collaboration with Artists with Evidence, the Architecture and Design Museum, and was supported by the City of Helsinki.
