living archival: memory of the space emphasizes the significance of individual experiences in the process of place-making. The sound map presents an extension of Helsinki, based on the artist's experiences gathered during aimless walks around the city center. Over several months, the artist documented these walks by collecting audio samples and data, which reflected their lived experiences of Helsinki.

This project invites others to use the map to explore the city from someone else's perspective. The interactive map outlines the most frequently walked paths and positions the corresponding sound recordings on each digital route using geolocation. As participants explore these paths on-site, audio samples that capture the artist's rhythms, breathing, pacing, and encounters with the place blend with the sounds of the city, facilitating a non-linear exploration of the area.

The sound map allows people to immerse themselves in their own experiences of the city while also connecting with those of the artist, creating a multi-dimensional understanding of the city and bridging personal and shared experiences of the place.
